Our MISSION

Planning is underway to host the City of Annapolis’ inaugural Juneteenth Celebration to include a parade and family festival in June 2021. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. This historic time marks our country’s second Independence Day. Although it has been celebrated in some African American communities, the monumental event is still largely unknown to most Americans. It is our goal to create a memorable experience that celebrates freedom and honors the memory of enslaved Africans and their contributions to America.
